After a tough selection by a panel of logistics experts, who reviewed 52 applications originating from 18 countries and across four continents, seven finalists were selected. At the Zunkuftskongress 2023, these Digital Logistics Award 2023 finalists captured the attention of the 500+ logistics experts in attendance with their concise 3-minute pitches, followed by a rapid-fire Q&A session. Subsequently, the audience then cast their votes, leading to the selection and announcement of the top three winners during the award ceremony later that evening.
Mansio GmbH took first place, winning a prize fund of 15,000€ to further develop their groundbreaking business idea along with access to the network of Europe’s best Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH). Mansio is a startup based in Aachen that offers a software-based transport system for road freight transport. Their concept for ensuring efficiency in transportation and supply chain optimisation involves a truck handing over its semi-trailer to another truck during transportation. Their unique concept undoubtedly stood out to a majority of the audience, hence securing their first place in the competition.

In the runner-up position, the start-up CO2OPT based in Hamburg came in second place, earning 6,000€ in prize fund to advance their promising business concept. CO2OPT presented their intelligent method for tire optimization for vehicle fleets. By matching vehicle profiles with the optimal tire options, the system enables an effective reduction of emissions and costs in fleet management. Their brilliant idea resonated strongly with the logistics experts, affirming the need for further support in its development, ultimately securing them second place.

Finally, the third company that stood out to the logistics experts was the company bobbie for 1Lieferschein consortium. The startup, also based in Aachen, won 3,000€ in prize money along with support benefits from the DIH. The consortium presents the innovative concept of the digital delivery note format “1Lieferschein”. This groundbreaking solution facilitates seamless collaboration between all actors in the logistics chain. The vision of this initiative goes beyond its own transactions: it aims to establish the digital delivery note as the standard both within and outside the construction industry.
