Emissions Data Exchange

The Emissions Data Exchange project uses the iLEAP data standard as an example to provide an interoperable data model for emissions measurement across the entire supply chain.

The more comparable data we make available and then analyse, the closer we get to reporting real values – and our goal of zero-emission logistics by 2050 at the latest.

Common challenges

There are currently no standards or best practices for exchanging emissions data in the supply chain. Companies use different systems, and manual processes or custom interfaces still hinder a fast, transparent data exchange. With its iLEAP project, Smart Freight Centre (SFC) and the SINE Foundation have developed a data model for emissions data exchange together with industry stakeholders. Based on the GLEC Framework and ISO 14083, it was published in March 2023 and is already widely adopted. The iLEAP interface now has to be implemented and tested in real-world use cases from the perspective of logistics service providers.

Regular meeting

Our regular meeting takes place every fourth Thursday of the month from 11:00 – 12:00.
