Spotlight Session: Prepare for Spain’s digital DCA

Spain is introducing a mandatory digital transport control document, and we’re here to help you prepare.

From 5 October 2026, road transports connected to Spain (both domestic and cross-border) will only be permitted if a digital Documento de Control Administrativo (DCA) is available and accessible for roadside inspections.

In this first-ever Spotlight Session, we’ll explain what the Spanish regulation actually requires, what the digital DCA is (and how it differs from the CMR), and why companies operating into or out of Spain should start preparing now.

We will also explore how the electronic consignment note (eCMR) can serve as an equivalent to the DCA (provided certain compliance requirements are met) and what that means for international logistics companies aiming to avoid parallel systems.

Finally, we’ll introduce the Open Logistics Foundation’s open source eCMR solution, with a focus on how it can be adopted to fit your needs in Spain.
