Deep Dive Open Source #2: eCMR
The consignment note for international road freight transport (CMR) has been paper-based since 1956. The result: high administrative costs with numerous manual activities, a multitude of different formats, media disruptions and transmission errors. With the eCMR from the “Silicon Economy” project, a service for the generation, storage and transmission of digital waybills in human- and machine-readable formats, taking into account established templates and international standards, was designed and implemented as a reference implementation. In this Deep Dive #2, those responsible for the project provide information about the OS components, which were published in the repository of the Open Logistics Foundation at the beginning of April.
The Deep Dive is a joint event of the Open Logistics Foundation and the Silicon Economy Initiative. It is primarily aimed at companies – and here both the management and IT departments. Here they can learn more about the concrete application and utilisation possibilities of the components. A total of eight dates are scheduled.
Each Deep Dive will start with a brief introduction to the Silicon Economy and the Open Logistics Foundation. Afterwards, the researchers themselves will present their components and services, usually with live demonstrations.
Participation is free of charge. The event language is German.
