On August 22, 2023, a panel of 9 logistics experts convened to review applications and share their insights. The panellists included Andrea Peters, Startup and Community Manager at startport GmbH; Andreas Nettsträter, CEO at Open Logistics Foundation; Andreas Werner, VP New Tech, Innovation and IPR / CTO at Swisslog GmbH; Angela Bisping, Geschäftsführerin at Axxum Innovation GmbH; Boris Jeggle, CIO/CDO at Rhenus Special Delivery; Carina Tüllmann, Head of Communications and Marketing at Open Logistics Foundation; Jörg Wamser, Managing Director at FTTF – Fraunhofer; Patric Hoffmann, Senior Vice President Global Ventures & Innovation at DB Schenker; and Robert Bach, Managing Director at Beam GmbH. They carefully reviewed each application, considering technical aspects, idea feasibility, problem-solving capabilities, sustainability approaches, project plans for the upcoming years, and more. After thorough discussions, they unanimously selected the top eight finalists based on these criteria, ensuring a diverse representation of candidates.

The finalists have the opportunity to do a 3-minute pitch of their idea in front of more than 500 decision-makers from the logistics and supply chain management industry, who will be present at the Zunkuftskongress Logistik in Dortmund. The audience will then get to vote for the top 3 best ideas that will win a total of 24,000€ in prize money, to be used for further development of their ideas.

This year’s field of applicants was more international than ever before. A total of 54 applications were received, coming from 18 countries and 4 continents. 42 applications being Start-ups, eight being start-ins and four being idea-creators. The quality of the applications was remarkable and diverse, which made the jury’s discussions and choices tough. Among the applications were many interesting and innovative ideas from the fields of Artificial Intelligence, IoT, BigData, cloud and platforms. The following companies stood out to the Jury the most and were hence selected as the eight finalists.

Arinto Maritime GmbH

This groundbreaking solution facilitates seamless collaboration between all actors in the logistics chain. The vision of this initiative goes beyond its own transactions: it aims to establish the digital delivery note as the standard both within and outside the construction industry.
