Track & Trace

Lack of transparency hinders planning certainty, sustainability, and compliance. The Working Group Track & Trace (T&T) addresses this by standardising track & trace with open source solutions and a shared digital language.

Common challenges

Various technologies like barcodes, RFID, RTLS, and blockchain enable real-time shipment tracking. However, companies have long developed isolated Track & Trace systems with differing terms and formats, making collaboration difficult. Without standardised status definitions, logistics partners often misunderstand each other, and service providers must interpret vague or conflicting updates. This lack of consistency leads to poor planning, unreliable delivery forecasts, and low transparency across the supply chain.

Regular meeting

Our regular meeting takes place every first Wednesday of the month from 13:00 to 14:00.

Members

Only through a consistent understanding of events is it clear where a specific delivery is located. At the same time, standardised designations for delivery events pave the way for easier automation of all communication processes.
