SUMMARY:AK E-Logistics & Digital Supply Chain
DESCRIPTION:The working group meeting will focus on the topic of ‘Intermodal Transport in Logistics’ and discuss how road\, rail and waterways can be better linked\, digitally connected and combined more efficiently. In view of increasing demands for resilience\, sustainability\, capacity and cost-effectiveness\, the intelligent integration of different modes of transport is becoming ever more important. At the same time\, practical hurdles remain in terms of data availability\, bookability\, standardisation\, terminal processes and the scaling of intermodal services. \nFrom the OLF\, Carina Tüllmann\, CCO of Open Logistics Foundation and Martin Schulze\, Managing Director of BusinessCode GmbH\, will be joining the conference and speaking in the session “No combined transport without digital standards” from 11:50 CET. \nThe session will focus on how physical links between road\, rail and waterways are well established\, but the digital links often are not. For the cost-effective scaling of intermodal transport\, common standards for status information\, order data and event notifications are required – for example\, for the dynamic optimisation of time slots. The presentation highlights current challenges from a business perspective and introduces open-source approaches to standardisation. The aim is to simplify the usability of intermodal services. \nPlease note that this conference is a Biktom internal meeting and only open to Biktom working group members. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Spotlight Session: Standardising track & trace
DESCRIPTION:Lacking transparency remains a major barrier to efficient\, sustainable\, and resilient supply chains. Despite physical transport processes being largely the same across companies\, the digital transformation of them often relies on fragmented systems and proprietary terminology. \nIn this Spotlight Session\, representatives from the Open Logistics Foundation’s Working Group Track & Trace will showcase how industry-wide collaboration for open standards along the logistics chain can address these challenges. \nThe session begins with a practical implementation story from ZeKju\, one of the first companies to deploy the Tracking Event Model in a real-world pilot together with Rhenus Logistics. The presentation will share: \n\nLessons learned from implementation\nThe effort involved and challenges encountered\nThe benefits of using a common language for transport status events\n\n \nBuilding on these experiences\, the session then turns to the group’s newest initiative: Timeslot Management. We will explain how an open\, interoperable approach can enable smarter coordination between all participants. Attendees will gain insights into the project’s progress\, including the development of a common data model and standardised APIs and the process of defining time slot requests from different stakeholder perspectives. \nJoin us there to learn how open standards and open source reduce integration complexity and create scalable solutions for the industry! \n \n  \nSpeakers\nMax-Alexander Borreck | Founder\, ZeKju GmbH \nGerry Daalhuisen | Senior Director Dock & Yard / Fleet Products\, Transporeon GmbH
