SUMMARY:Deep Dive Open Source #4: libVDA5050++
DESCRIPTION:Today\, the control of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) is predominantly proprietary and thus manufacturer-specific. This means that AGVs from different manufacturers cannot be controlled by a common master controller from one manufacturer. The VDA5050 standard is intended to provide a remedy. With libVDA5050++ from the “Silicon Economy” project\, a generic open-source implementation of the standard is now available. It enables manufacturers of FTFs to convert their vehicles to the standard quickly and without major effort. The libVDA5050++ is one of the first OS developments to be published in the repository of the Open Logistics Foundation at the beginning of April. \nThe Deep Dive is a joint event of the Open Logistics Foundation and the Silicon Economy Initiative. It is primarily aimed at companies – and here both the management and IT departments. Here they can learn more about the concrete application and utilisation possibilities of the components. A total of eight dates are scheduled. \nEach Deep Dive will start with a brief introduction to the Silicon Economy and the Open Logistics Foundation. Afterwards\, the researchers themselves will present their components and services\, usually with live demonstrations. \nParticipation is free of charge. The event language is German.
